This policy explains what personal information Campers London collects when you use this website or hire one of our campervans, why we collect it, and what rights you have over it. We keep things simple: we only ask for what we need to answer your questions and arrange your trip.

Who we are

Campers London is a family-run campervan hire business run by Izzie and Joe. We are the “controller” of your personal information under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).

What we collect

When you send an enquiry or booking request: your name, email address, phone number (if you give it), the camper and dates you’re interested in, and anything else you write in your message.

When you hire a camper: the details we need to arrange and insure the hire, such as the names and contact details of drivers, driving licence details, your address, and payment and deposit records.

When you email or message us: your email address and whatever you include in your message.

When you browse the site: basic technical and usage information, such as pages visited, browser and device type, and approximate location, collected through cookies and similar technology. See our Cookie Policy for details and to change your choices.

How we use it and our legal basis

To reply to enquiries and take bookings: to take steps you’ve asked for before entering a contract, and to perform the hire contract.
To manage your hire, including insurance, handover, deposits and any damage or claims: to perform the contract and to meet our legal obligations.
To keep accounting and tax records: legal obligation.
To understand how the website is used and improve it: our legitimate interests, or your consent where cookies require it.
To send you news or offers: only if you’ve opted in. You can unsubscribe at any time.

We never sell your personal information.

Who we share it with

We only share information with services that help us run the business, and only as much as they need:

Squarespace: hosts this website, its forms and its analytics.
Google: our email (Gmail).
Cloudflare: powers the live availability calendar on our booking page.
Our insurer and payment providers: when needed to insure your hire or take a payment.
Professional advisers and authorities: such as our accountant, or the police or other authorities where the law requires it.

Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, they use approved safeguards such as UK adequacy regulations or standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that don’t lead to a booking are deleted within 12 months. Booking and hire records are kept for 6 years after your hire to meet tax and legal requirements. After that, we delete them securely.

Your rights

You have the right to:

ask for a copy of the information we hold about you;
ask us to correct or delete it;
object to, or ask us to limit, how we use it;
ask us to transfer it to you or another organisation;
withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on consent.

Complaints

If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, please talk to us first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
